What We Can Change

Six things that make the part yours instead of a catalogue item.

Custom Caliper & Engine Adapters, detail view

Bolt pattern & pitch

Both sides, to whatever you are joining.

Boss height & offset

Sets disc alignment, not just fitment.

Counterbore & thread

To the fasteners you specify.

Lug & clearance shape

Trimmed so nothing fouls.

Line & hose clearance

Checked against the union and the hose.

Finish & marking

Anodised to your colour, your logo laser-marked.

What We Need From You

  • The part and the project — make, model and year, and what it is replacing.
  • The drawing — 2D PDF or 3D STEP/IGES. We ask for it by email after your enquiry.
  • Material — 6061-T6 as standard. 7075-T6 on request.
  • Finish and branding — the colour you want, and the logo file to be marked.
You do not upload anything to start. Send the requirement through the enquiry form; we reply by email and ask for exactly the files we need — nothing more.

What an Adapter Plate Has to Get Right

An adapter is a lever, not a spacer - the caliper load passes through it. These are the six dimensions that decide whether the plate works or drags.

1. Both bolt patterns, centre-to-centreThe pitch of the caliper side and the pitch of the fork or frame side, measured on the parts themselves. Also tell us whether the caliper is a radial or an axial mount - the two need completely different plate shapes.
2. Rotor diameter and rotor planeWhere the disc actually sits relative to the caliper centreline. A plate can bolt up perfectly and still leave the pads off the disc; the rotor plane is what prevents that.
3. Boss heightThe thickness that carries the caliper out to the disc. It is set by the rotor plane, not by how thick the original bracket looked.
4. Fastener specificationThread size and pitch, the length you intend to use, and how much engagement you want in the plate. Countersink or counterbore matters too - it changes the plate thickness we can work with.
5. Clearance at full travelSpokes, rim, hose union and the fork leg at full compression. Give us the wheel you are running and we shape the lugs around it rather than trimming afterwards.
6. For engine plates: chain line and frame tubesMount hole spacing on the engine and on the frame, the sprocket offset you need to hit, and the tube it has to clear. An engine plate that fits but shifts the chain line is a plate that eats sprockets.

Because the plate carries braking load, we machine to the geometry you send and you confirm fitment on the bike before the batch runs. A paid sample exists precisely so that the first article is checked on the vehicle, not assumed from a drawing.

Your Drawing Becomes the Part

This is the only thing we need to quote: the geometry. Everything else we settle with you by email.

What we will not do

We do not reproduce original equipment parts and we do not copy factory appearance. Every part is a generic structure built to your own design. Before production starts we ask for trademark authorisation for your mark and a non-infringement undertaking. No Mosvolt branding appears on the finished part.

Caliper & Engine Adapters Quick Answers

Yes — that is the job. Send both bolt patterns, the disc or boss offset you need and the fasteners you are using, and we machine the plate to suit. Submit the requirement first and we ask for the drawing by email.

A 2D PDF or a 3D STEP/IGES. Submit the enquiry first and we will ask for the drawing by email — you do not need to upload anything to get a quote started.

Where a process does require tooling, it is quoted separately as its own line — never bundled into the unit price.

Priced per drawing and quantity — there is no list price for custom geometry. A sample is produced and charged at full rate, and it is not credited against the production order.

Other Directions We Build to Order

Same factory, same process. If your part is not an adapter plate, it is probably one of these.

Images are representative renders of our manufacturing capability — every part is produced to your drawing and carries your brand.
